I been working as office clerk for 4 months, but is so boring.
My hours are from 9am-5pm Monday -friday,and I get pay every week, but not holidays. The owner is a chinese so you know what I mean by that. They tell you your job is one thing, then they put you to do other things.
Sometimes I have work to do and sometimes i do, lately I have nothing to do .Is only me working here,I have no one to talk to.
My friend offer me a job almost the samething as this one but from 12pm-5pm Monday-friday getting pay every week and holidays too.the same amount I'm getting paid right know,The good thing is that I wont be alone and bord, but the bad thing is that is less hours. It's not to far from my house is like about 10 minutes away.a little far from my present job.
oh something else, the owner put alot of pressure for me to do sales, when I don't even want to.
She tells me that I will get 1% commission on sales, thats nothing..I though i was just an office clerk not a sales person.
PLEASE GOOD ADVISE

I think you should really consider going back to school or completing a course. I think that it doesn't matter where you work, as long as you are an office clerk, you will have to be willing to do things outside of your job description. As for the not having the holidays free, that you will find in pretty much every job in the private industry, so there's no solution to that unless you make the transition to the government. So maybe take the other job with less hours so that you have more time to study, but honestly, really consider making that investment because you will have to work just as hard in any job you have, the difference will be if you like it and how much you get paid for it.

Your other job offer is offering you the same pay, correct? Then why not look for another part time job? I mean, if you are making the same amount of money, but only working 1/2 of the time, then you would have the extra time for another 20 hour job per week. Thus, you would be working the same amount of hours as you first job, but making twice the money. That's what I would do anyway.

I would honestly look for another job than those 2. You are not tied to them, it is a business relationship in the end anyhow. If you are bored, then try something different! Perk up your resume, post it everywhere you can and get yourself some contacts in a temp agency. You may not find a perfect jog there but you can get something more varied until you find what you really like. There are lots of jobs out there!

Why not find another job?
Look around in your local paper. Go to some of the apartment buildings near by and ask how one goes about being a leasing agent.

Work time is not for talking, now get back to work!! lol...just kidding. You should look into fair employment laws and he should be paying you at least 3% commission for sales. I used to work on commissions and I got 6%.

Take the other position and continue to look for a job that fully employed. With your mornings open, it will give you the chance to arrange interviews

This is in the wrong column.

Can't advise people who only think for themselves, bad mouth the boss and not for advancement.
