In senior year or maybe junior year I want to take AP Psychology.I'm already scheduled for 2 AP's (English comp and US History) next year (junior year)..should I add AP Psych to that or should I wait to senior year and do it or should I take a class in college in my junior year?

I know its alot of questions to answer but I need help figuring it all out.. Thanks

I say take AP Psychology. I did. Granted that you need to perform well. But if you're a good student, only good things can happen. It looks good on your transcript, and can help boost your class rank. I took three AP classes my senior year (Psychology, Environmental Science, and Calculus). I did fine. AP Psych was definitely the most work, but I learned A LOT. So much, in fact, that my scores were: Psych 4, Calculus 3, Environmental Science 1 (my teacher for that class was awful). And I'm a chemical engineering major!

Plus, go to www.ratemyprofessor.com and check out the school you plan to attend. Check the psychology department to see their ratings. After seeing the ratings of my school's psych dept, I'm glad I took AP and got the credits!

Good luck!

I might say take the psychology magnificence at a regional tuition. AP categories are well, they absolutely appear well to potential schools, however precise tuition categories will appear greater. AP categories are geared closer to the prime college scholar. I understand they're extra at the tuition degree, however they're nonetheless "prime college" categories. Some schools do not receive distinctive AP categories for tuition credit score as good. I might say if you'll take a tuition psychology, do this first. If you cannot, take the AP considering the fact that if not anything else, it is going to get ready you for tuition!

As a professor and I admit I am prejudiced - I would place more value on the college course. It would be taught by someone knowing what you needed to know about pysch to take other courses AND it meets the criteria for credit hours needed to graduate from college. AP courses don't change the hours you need to grad from college.

Students of mine who have ENG 101 via AP from high school credit STILL have to take 9 credit hours of Eng to grad- Now if they had taken that same course here while in HS it would count.

I would recommend taking it at your local college. You will get to experience a college course before you are fully thrown into college. When I was in high school I took college courses in the summer at my local community college, I would recommend it to any bright high school student it was a very good experience for me. Just make sure that the courses you take will transfer before you register for them (check out your university's registrar's website).
