I wash him really well every night before he goes to bed. He doesn't have many folds cause he is a skinny little thing. I thought maybe it could be his formula???? Also we live in Las Vegas and it is extremely hot here, I just didn't think babies sweat....

are under the fold of his arms red? If so, it's probably yeast growing in the folds of his skin because it is warm and moist. My daughter had this happen once under her neck. Tell your pediatrician and they will prescribe you a cream that will take care of it.

Are you making sure that when you bath him you wash and dry really good under there? Sometimes gunk can build up under their arms causing an almost infected like smell.

you need to bathe babies daily with a gentle soap, or they too can develop body odor just like adults. Not a good idea to use a deodorant on them, their skin can't handle the chemicals involved.

What kind of formula is he on? Different formulas give babies different smells. When my son was on soy alot of people said "he must be a soy formula baby". lol

That's odd, the only thing I can think of is that your not bathing him correctly, or you need to change his body soap.

those rolls can get ickiness stuck in them that you can't see very well and then get stinky. Are you pulling his wrinkles straight when you bathe him and getting all the yuck out?
