My father is a blue-collared worker who works his butt off for a living. He is part of a labor union and will vote for the candidate who most supports labor unions, which nowadays are Democrats. He says he does not hate Bush, but does not agree with everything he does and that some of his ideas are what Republicans have. Is my father basically an Independent?

I once heard him say how Kennedy and Reagan were good Presidents despite them being from different political parties.

I gererally agree with your father. Being in a labor union, my father was also a Democrat, although he once told me that he never voted for a Democratic candidate in a Presidential election.

He has, however, lost faith in President Bush, and he says that he regrets voting for him.

He generally supported Republicans in national races, but he hated local Republicans such as Nelson Rockefeller and John Lindsay.

Although he doen't live in New York anymore, I know that he doesn't care for RINOs such as Rudy Giuliani or Michael Bloomberg.

It means he's a Scoop Jackson Democrat. You know, back when the Democrat Party allowed patriots in.

Your father`s view is shared by the majority of the American people today as we seen in Nov. 06` and I would not spend to much time on labeling him but if I had to I would call him the radical middle.

It means he hasn't come face to face with reality yet, or he used to be a full-fledged democrat and grew up, but was so into it that it;s now pernamently a part of him.

Tell him to visit the peoples' republic of California, that'll eliminate every bit of dem out of him. I guarantee it.
