Imagine that you have selected, trained and led a team of highly skilled and specialized professionals for about 15 years. Now your company is down-sizing and your division is being sold to another company far away. More than half of your team have seen the "writing on the wall" and left. You are given these options:
(1) stay where you are with no change in pay or benefits but a risk of lay-off within a year,
(2) take a 20% raise in pay and company-paid relocation to an attractive part of the country but you have to take your children out of their school, leave friends, relatives, church, clubs, etc.
(3) come up with another alternative (excluding retirement).

If all other factors were equally balanced, what would you do?

Take option 1, BUT do something in the meantime. With 15 years of experience, leverage on your knowledge, skill, experience and passion to start something on your own. Find a sub market within the industry that you can offer your service and specialize.

You have the benefit of ONE YEAR to start up and getting paid as well. Imagine that your life depends on it, so u will get motivated. There is nothing worst than sitting around and accept your fate.

You control your own life and destiny, you must believe in that and in yourself.
