The murders he committed were over a period of three days. Roid Rage would mean that he did it very quickly, and killed him self within a very short amount of time. He deliberated every action that he made. He had a condition called Fragile X syndrome, and so did his son. It is thought that the pressures of this pushed him to the edge and he killed his son because he thought that maybe Daniel would not get enough care if he was in jail and his wife was dead. His actions could have been under steroids but it was not from Roid Rage.

I think it was both. The use of steroids can cause rage and/or depression. I think that Benoit might have already been abusive, since his wife almost left him for that very reason, and it finally came to a head. Benoit had a very dark side that nobody knew about, and he was probably pushed over the line by the excessive steroid use.

Steroids don't only cause rage, they also cause deep depression. Rage would not seem to be the cause, since the murders/suicide took an entire weekend instead of happening all at once. I think, and it's only my opinion, that Benoit was depressed and the issues with his son became too much to handle. Maybe he argued with his wife over him not being home enough and it got out of hand. Then, after he killed her, maybe he realized that he couldn't leave his son behind with all the problems he had and killed him too. I don't think we'll ever really know what the cause was, but the fact remains that he was a cold blooded murderer and a coward who took his own life!

Some people are saying it was depression caused by concussion ex-wrestler Chris Nowinski believes that is the case.I believe it was a mental illness but now tragically it is too late.

He killed his wife, because evenutally he was going to. He beat her long enough. I would say he killed his kid because of mentally stressed issues, but If he popped steroids, I don't know if he abused it for the whole weekend of the killing.

It was probably both. 22 years of high pace living and steroid use was too much for him to handle and he lost it.
