Do you mean like eat special herbs alternative or what? There are several medications, Valtrex is the most common. Unfortunately, you're going to have a lifelong friend. No cures, just treatment. Some are effective, some aren't (like 99.99998% of all alternative medicines).

Valtrex, a form of acyclovir is all that is currently recommended by the FDA. And it only reduces the risk of spreading the infection, it doesn't get rid of the risk.

chemicals are not really that effective on viruses, but valtrex ?
seems to be the one with the most promise.
alternatively,
the Placebo effect works really well.
there are ways to tap in to its power,
I would suggest meditation with the intent to cure it and the intent to get your subconsciouses to cure it.
if it does not work, then its relaxing anyway,
but if you Believe in it, then it should work.
