Everyone behind your router would be connected at 100 Mb/s and shouldn't cut into your bandwidth unless they had other applications (web browser, email, IM, etc.) running. Depending on your upload and download speed others should be able to join your game from outside if you forward the ports appropriately.

Tell me what your upload and download speeds are and I can probably tell you how many people you can have connect from outside.

Edit: This is all assuming you're hosting the server behind your router. If the server is external, everyone behind your router will cut into your bandwidth, but nobody else would.

As you increase demand on the LAN you will reach a point where the LAN demand equals and ultimately exceeds its capacity. When this happens you will notice slow down because packets will back up and in some cases will be lost and this will require retransmitting lost packets which makes things seem even slower.

Think of it like this. A 4 lane interstate highway carries traffic at 70 mph under normal loads. If rush hour and a major sport event ends at the same time, the highway will be overloaded and people will see slowdowns, and perhaps even stoppages.

You can calculate this if you wish to do so. Your network switch capacity, router capacity, etc all need to be considered to do this but it is no harder than freshman high school algebra. However, given your improper grammar and writing skills, it looks to me like you cannot write at the fourth grade level so maybe this would be too advanced for you - so I won't go into this.

It really depends on what all you are doing. If you are playing video games over a network or sharing music/video, absolutely. If you are IMing or browsing basic sites, not so much. It really depends on how much data you are sending to one another and requesting from the internet. If you have a good cable modem or fast DSL connection, you should be able to have a few people (less than 10) working on the network without too much of a lag (delay).

Depends what you're dowing. If sharing large files or many cameras are involved it may slow down the bandwith but it will work. Depends on how many peaple are involved, amount of bandwith and what are you doing.
