If you are looking for a romantic one my boyfriend liked music and lyrics and pretty woman.
If you are looking for action a james bond movie or oceans movie would be good.
If you are looking for scary so you can hold his hand and cuddle then Red Eye is a good one.
Have fun~!

High Fidelity (2000), the ultimate date movie (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0146882/).
It's a romantic comedy starring John Cusack and Iben Hjejle, with smaller roles filled by an early Jack Black (before he started touching all the worst scripts in Hollywood), Joan Cusack, Tim Robbins, and Catherine Zeta-Jones.
Here's a plot summary that I lifted from IMDB.com:
"Arrested development confronts 30-something Rob Gordon (Cusack) when Laura (Hjejle), his smart and successful lover, leaves him because he hasn't changed since they met. He reviews his top five worst breakups (he constantly makes top five lists, though usually about music). He recalls each breakup, reconnects with these former loves to find out why they dumped him, and wallows in misery from losing Laura. Much of it plays out at his vinyl record store where he and two clerks, socially-inept savants, live and breathe obscure contemporary music. Rob makes fruitless attempts to win Laura back, indulges in new relationships laced with fantasy, and tries introspection. What will Laura do?"
The movie works well for both men and women because it has things for both genders. It has a touching romantic story for the ladies and plenty of scenes of Rob and his employs cutting up in the record store which will definitely appeal to most male viewers and should be enjoyable for female viewers as well. Another plus is that it is told from a man's point of view, so the guy watching it will be able to relate to the main character and will probably actually enjoy the romantic storyline (which will probably be enjoyed by the girl viewer no matter what).
Seriously consider giving this one a shot, the two of you will both walk away happy.

it depends on what u have in mind....
we loved watching "The Lake House" and "The Holiday" for a romantic mood, "The Departed" for some action and as far as the comedies go, there i am afraid i have nothing to recommend unless u wanna mix romantic and comedy so "When Harry met Sally" is an excellent choice.....
