Our Wal-mart has a very small frozen section that just sells some TV dinners and milk and eggs. Why doesn't it sell more grocery items, especially produce and meats. Our nearest supermarket is farther away than Wal-mart.

Wal-mart decides whether to switch all their regular Wal-marts to Super Wal-mart by looking at the area and deciding whether it would be a good business move or not. They might have just decided it wouldn't be profitable in your area. Or maybe its in the works and you don't know about it yet.

Hi Rooney,

Chances are Wal-Mart is looking into real estate in your area to support a Super Wal-Mart. It may take a year or two. But the trend is to enter a lease on larger property, start construction. Then when the new Super WM opens, they abandon the original store.

Tractor Supply, Steve & Barry's and other retailers typically will lease the first store and keep the property "up".

I honestly don't know why your store carries such a small frozen food section. This seems very rare.
