From reviewing some of your other post where you have stated your age at 15 this can prove to be difficult to obtain. Not impossible, but with insurance issues most want a legal adult around for safety. Listening to your friends and family you can hear stories that may seem like likely places to research. There are also freelance groups that get permission to check places out or get invited to be checked out that would not mind someone tagging along that shares interest. Never go to a place without an invite or permission because this can cause problems no matter what the intent.

I can assist you in finding houses to investigate. First you should decide on the crime, and then.......just kidding
if you will get off the computer, and look in the paper, there are usually clubs that list activities that are going on in the area.
there is a group of investigators called TAPS that are well known enough people contact them. Understand those guys I'm noting, are first rate investigators, and while they find things they are not quick to decide it is what "people want it to be."
You might also note that some of them have been thrown to the ground. You better look out, you might find what you are looking for and it might follow you home.
I worked for 30 years as a delivery driver making stops before dawn. (had to give that up as the war on terrorsim is taking my time now....drat these deployments) I can tell you you can run into activity all over the place. One ghost I saw on a regular basis was always dressed in a plaid shirt holding his belly. I found out later he fit the description of a man killed there on that spot. One of the other drivers only sees a black cloud that swirls around and moves things (heavy things). You better think this through before you go get yourself into trouble

1. Got a friend that's a real estate agent?
2. Got a friend with a newspaper subscription?
3. Got a friend who gets junk mail full of real estate ads?
4. Got a friend in the target area with a car who can read
"For Sale" the like?
That's an obvious start...

I will go! Also, here is a web site for ghostly investigations (plus other groups as well): >>Meetup.com<< You can log on and find out where the next local meeting is, investigations, etc. right in your own county/city/town.

advertisement.
just tell every one your skills,
and tell them what you want to do,
get cards printed up.
you will find people that will want things checked out.
with ghost hunting, I found that I could not find enough places to investigate to keep me entertained,
and after a while, I found that I was really not helping anyone by finding things that they knew were there anyway.
do you see any long term point to it ?
so I started gardening more, its way more of a sunshiny activity.

I presume you're into ghost hunting and not a burglar?
Find somewhere where there's been a traumatic incident. Murder, Suicide, tragic death, battle. Research it, hopefully as you research it, you'll have people join you, even if it's out of pure curiosity or morbidity

Investigate for what?
If you're into forensics, talk your local university or law enforcement office.
