can you smell that you are pregnant?

i read somewhere that in the old days women could tell they were pregnant by the way they smelled. Is this true? if so what is the smell?

while working in a nursing home i was about 8 weeks pregnant NOT SHOWING and there was a little black lady there that kept telling me when i was near her that she smelled a baby and kept asking me if i was pregnant. until that day i had never head such a thing in my life.

Perhaps you should consider that this wives tale may be referring to the way that women noticed their heightened sense of smell- For example, being able to suddenly smell things that other people could not or noticing body odor of everyone when you did not previously smell them. This can be an early sign of pregnancy and was often an indicator of pregnancy before the pregnancy test.

WOW a lot of weird funny old wives tale. But never heard this one before. Probably baby smell is what they're talking about.

This is an old wives tale, some people believe in them some don't. I do to a point but not this wives tale. I do not think you can smell it. I do know that pregnant women do have more oils in their skin.
