Have you heard the news??
Congress wants to give itself a $4,400.00 pay raise because that kind of pay scale keeps quality, 'experienced' politicians in office, and - bisdes - lobbyists make so much more money than Congressmen do!!
This is the Congress tha promised to end the insane, evil, immoral, unjustified 'war' in Iraq; the Congress whose performance so far has been 'lackluster' at best; the Congress whose approval ratings are lower than George W. Bush's! It's time for Americans to stop voting these evil cretins into office and start exercising our Constitutional right to "keep and bear arms" against an oppressive and tyrannical government whose officials have long forgotten they are public servants, NOT privileged royalty!
HELL NO to this obscene pay increase for the second most contemptible, incompetent, cowardly, evil, greedy, corrupt Congress in history (the first worst was the last Republican-led Congress that let Bush run rip shod over our Constitution). Throw the bums out

You've answered your question with the most appropriate answer: HELL NO. In any other business more pay is an incentive/reward for doing a good job.
How can we stop them? Anyone can write or e.mail their congressmen so lets DO IT people. There's an election coming up so make sure you get out there & don't vote for the greedy bastards. This government does not represent the people.
I'm sick of hearing 'this is a free country'. It's not. We are subject to a corrupt government & pay a huge price for it.
I just visited the United Nations in New York City where a guide tried to explain, without judgment, how Bush was able to invade Iraq without the UN backing. He has disgraced this country & expects us to pay for his blunders. We can't afford this congress or this President.

You see the irony. We completely changed the power structure in Washington and nothing happened. The congress before was just barely republican and now is just barely democrat. What this means is absolutely nothing will be done. Just like it has been for the last few years. The majority is not big enough to push things through. The last things those do-nothings deserve is a raise and you are quite right to say we should throw the bums out. I believe it is time for term limits in congress. No one person should live their entire life off of my taxes. After all this is where their salary comes from and I am tired of paying some these yahoos.

Well, if they can balance the budget then I see no problem with it. But to ask for a pay raise when you cannot even manage your wallet.....seems to be their problem not mine.
Maybe they should have a tuna sandwich and a salad instead of a 100 dollar meal out.....might help their waistlines also.

I would be getting $4,400 pay raises if I were voting on it. That's the problem. What person out there wouldn't vote their own self an enormous pay raise.
