Oscars are big fish and need a lot of O2 in the water. First of all, DON'T put warm water in the tank. When the temp goes up, it drives O2 OUT of the water.
The size of the tank is important, as is the size of the oscar. Big fish in small tank=problem.
A few years ago we had a power outage here in NE Ohio that lasted 3 days in some areas (luckily it was only 24 hours at our house). At the time, I had about 12-14 tanks up and running. I was forced to use an empty gallon jug and fill it about 3/4 full of tank water. Put the cap on and shake it good for about 20-30 seconds. This allowed an O2 transfer that was beneficial for the fish. On the bigger tanks, I had to do it a few times. When I noticed the fish were starting to slow down and just hang in one spot, I would go around and do it again. What a nightmare! I saved all the fish though, didn't lose a one of them. My right biceps are still larger than my left...

Only if there is a major temperature change. With airation and filtration the water has enough oxygen to support the fish for a while. If the electric is out for more than 12-14 hours though, you will need to do small water changes every hour or so, so the water doesn't become stale and ammonia won't build up. But they should be fine.
My electric was out for nearly two days and I took care of my goldfish and clawed frog like this and he's fine. My frog thought it was feeding time because it was dark, though :)

Typically this isn't a problem really. The fish should be fine with you doing nothing for at least a few days assuming the tank isn't way too crowded. In the event it's way crowded or the power were to be off for more than a day, I would suggest a 25% watewr change and that should be all that would be needed.

If that does happen, you can pour some warm water into the tank every now and them. Have a thermomiter and just check the temperature. You should be fine. =] Try not to worry.

I have had a numeber of Oscars in the past and they will be fine. It would have to be an extended period of time. Just feed them like normal and they will be fine.
