The bill is dead. The Senate killed it. Can we get an administration in the next election to close our borders already??!!

From CNN:

"Republican opponent of the bill, Sen. David Vitter of Louisiana, said the vote sent a crystal clear message "that the American people want us to start with enforcement, both at the border and at the workplace, and don't want promises. They want action, they want results, they want proof, because they've heard all the promises before."

I HOPE CONGRESS LISTENS NOW. It's the corporations influencing Bush and his cronies and the special interest groups and Hispanic lobby influencing the Democrats. Congress SHOULD BE influenced by the majority of Americans who cried out against this bill and called for current laws to be enforced.

I pray for that every day.

I see people on this forum, and many other forums regarding the illegal immigrant, trying to put the blame for this situation on one political party or another, but he fact remains that this problem has built up over the years no matter who was in office, or held the majority.
This situation is not the fault of either party, but both, as neither has fulfilled their oath of office, and protected our borders or enforced the immigration laws already on the books.

We already had laws on the books and had funded a previous wall / fence.
Big business will never let the prospect of slave wage labor to go away.
My solution is to fine and jail the CEO and board a offending companies that hire illegals.
Then cut the illegals off from all our social programs and schools.
Take away the sugar and the cockroaches will go away!!

We definitely need to enforce the law, get that wall built across the entire border, not just part of it. Deport all these illegals, give the unemployed US citizens all those jobs, and see how easy it is for them to get back across.

Everyone who called or emailed their Senators made the difference!

My hat is off to you!

Now, we need to badger them about enforcing existing immigration laws!
