Well, I personally don't believe in such connections. However, I have had friends who've met on the internet and "fallen in love" and found the "ONE" and felt those feelings. I suppose it can happen..

I just don't understand, how can you compare any feeling you can get physically being next to someone to a conversation where you can't see their expression or see their emotions..to each its own.

Like Kalpana Chawla, and Williams for example, I have never met , but for a reason I am emotionally attached because She belongs to my country and I would feel more concerned about her well being. Whether her aircraft landed safely or not . Thats emotional linkage you can say I have sensed it that way. Now, when you watch news channels and if they show you images of people being killed here and there those whom u have never known who they are what they are, whether they were bad or good, still u get horrified and wish for their good sake, humanistic view of linkage I can say. Spiritually, even when you close your eyes you some time in all alone think of what is wrong with the society, how people are behaving with each other, their menatl state, thoughs generate about whether they believe in god and you discuss in yourself what is going on in mecca Madina, In Jerusalem, what and how would be the thinking of the people of India, what about eople in america on this/that issue. and lastly you come to a self motivated reasoning that the people might think like this ot that. This is how yoyu are spiritually attached to them. You know most (max) people would have this or that common belief that you have.
I wish you have given me so much to think about how am I linked to you being answering this question and how you might have thought to get an answer like this or that but you too were spiritually attached this way with me and with all the other answerers.

I would see linked as projection here. I can project on anyone I want, but to be truly linked... that is rare I think. You can however Wánt to be linked and that's when we start projecting we are connected... just out of wish really.... And since wishing like that is a common thing... in that way I think you have a point.

If you believe in past lives then the answer would be yes. There are other people around the world that you have met and lived with before. I think that we do sense it to some degree. I mean why do we decide that we like or dislike things even before we try it? I think that those things we like or dislike were influenced by our past experiences and the people in them.

Yes, we are because we belong to one body in Jesus Christ. Christ is the head and we are parts and members of that body. We are brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus. And we have only one Father who is in Heaven. In fact if one suffers we are all affected even without you knowing it. There is a universal aspect of our connection with one another. If there is earthquake in South America, in Europe, India, or in any other parts of the world, and many died and are suffering we feel sorry and we sympathize because the people out there even we are separated by miles are our concern too. They are our brothers and sisters in other parts of the world especially in their sufferings, hardships and difficulties, etc.
