Are you only lonely when you're with other people?

I sometimes feel like that - I know it's crazy.

It is like there is an aura around you, you see and hear them yet somehow still feel disconnected. I have those kind of feelings often.

Not crazy at all I often feel that way I think it's pretty common I rarely feel lonely when I am alone am my own best company I guess. But put me in a crowd of people and I am suddenly lost and sad.

It's not crazy I have felt it many a time, its a time to reflect and realise how small in the world we really are but then be thankful we are alive and well and pray for those most unfotunate

I understand, sometimes you feel as if you are not part of the group. Just start chiming in to their conversation and try to push the thought aside. They are not trying to exclude you, but sometimes you focus so much on your thoughts that you end up excluding yourself from the group.

I sometimes feel that way. I wouldn't use the word crazy, but you might have clinical depression.

It depends on who the people are. If I get along with them I don't feel lonely. If I don't get along with them that well then I feel lonely. :-(

Yes. I went to a wedding and I was like the only person in my group of friends without a date. Talk about depressing.

I feel most lonely in crowds, because everyone seems to know where they go, and who they belong to.
