Before I retired, I usually didn't receive a pay raise unless my performance merited it! Now I live on a $1,027.60 monthly Social Security check while gasoline prices soar and oil companies make billions in additional profits; while Congress does absolutely nothing it promised to do when it was elected; while this insane, immoral, unjustifiable 'war' continues to put American taxpayers TRILLIONS of dollars in debt, and while our cost-of-living spirals upward our of control.
Yet, members of Congress believe they deserve $170,000 a year, claiming such salaries are necessary to keep "experienced" people in Congress. BULL!!!!!
Politics is the only profession where "experience" only makes you less accountable, more arrogant, more corrupt, and less attentive to your responsibilities.
It's time for Americans to exercise their Constitutional right (see the 2nd Amendment to our Bill of Rights) to "keep and bear arms" against an oppressive, tyrannical and do-nothing bunch of greedy bastards!!

They are all about serving their handlers, and keeping the status quo by maintaining the wealth of this country in a few selected hands. We need true reform that take the lobbyists and influence peddlers out of the equation SO they start serving the electorate and earn their pay.

I agree,no one in DC deserves a raise.Since Bush,Cheney and congress continue to support this fiasco in Iraq, their entire salaries should be sacrificed to deflect the cost to us taxpayers.

We elected a bunch of corrupt liars to office. We "expect" them to be logical and do what is best? Come on, they suck big time. With the lowest approval rating since maybe forever they "deserve" more pay.

I'd want more money than that if "I" had to put up with President Bush's rantings and power grasping!

Bush: "Do it MY way or I veto! Waaaaaaahhhh!!!"
