I have changed the battery twice! Change the ignition once because it made a grinding noise when starting sometimes. the lights come on fine, not dim, as if the battery is dying. Everything works fine. But turn the key and nothing maybe a low single click sound. Some times if i jump it it works, or either if I take off the red battery cable turn the ignition the put it back on, it works. Once a guy spent 30 sec under the hood tighten something didn't have a problem for a year. Yeah, he never told me what the !@#$ he did. It doesn't happen often and pretty much happens at random. Please help, thanks

From what you said, it sounds like a dirty battery connection. Take the cables off and clean them well. The battery post and the cable fitting. Put it back together and see if it makes a difference. Look at other connections with the starter if you are still having problems.
30 secs under the hood sounds like a quick battery cleaning, was what the guy did. good luck.

More than likely, useing a 1/2" wrench and tightening your battery cable ends will help.
If not, check all your connections. Be sure to check ALL connections, including positive post, cable to end, solenoid(if applicable), starter, negative at battery and negative at engine.
Also check for corrosion.

sounds like your starter is going out or you just have a bad hot cable. Replace the red cable that runs from the battery to the voltage regulator and then replace the cable from the voltage regulator to your starter. if you have jumped it several times it could have crystalized the cable and it isn't letting enough juice thru.

It might have a loose connection on the starter solenoid.
Follow the wires from the starter - and check all the connections.
If they are all crudded up - you should carefully mark the wires, remove them clean them off, use a little bit of conductive grease on them, and tighten them back down.

sounds like a short in the starter, or the starter is sticking sometimes. the next time, take a small hammer or something and hit the starter a little, but not too hard, or the solenoid is sticking.

First of all check to make sure that your cable and connection are all good and tight. Then have the starter system checked.

You need to drive to an auto parts store and have your battery and charging system tested even if you think the battery is good.
