Could it be that they didn't mind it when Bush asserted Executive Privilege at that time when the documents in question were from the Clinton administration?

Just a thought.

Democrats DID complain then.

They were the ones who issued the subpeonas in 2001, since they were the majority in the Senate at that time! (Sen. Jim Jeffords had left the GOP to become an independent, giving the Democrats the majority - remember?) You can't say the Democrats were trying to hide Clinton scandals -- they were the ones seeking the documents in the first place!

And when Bush refused, plenty of Democrats complained along with Republicans.

Try thinking less and researching more.

No because they didn't have the backing in the Republican run congress. Now they're in control and they're doing something about it. Finally!
