Fast food is NOT full-time work. They specifically list the jobs as part-time to avoid providing the extra benefits that the law requires full-time employees have.

Second, one of the biggest pressures on restaurant managers is keeping labor costs down. That means NO over-time. So, the 8 hour days, six days a week thing is never going to happen. I wouldn't plan on working more than maybe 32 hours a week.

I used to manage fast food years ago and when my employee's whined about their hours I simply said, "If you're looking for a full-time job to pay the bills, then fast food is NOT it."

I manage a Subway store. I usually start employees out at about 20 hours a week. From there it all depends on performance. If you show that you are responsible and hard working then you will get the hours. I would never schedule anyone over 35 hours a week because I would never want to have to pay overtime (that's a big labor cost waste)

It depends on what they need. If they are short of people, they might give you that many hours, but probably not. It would be real unusual for them to give you over 40 hours a week, since they'd have to pay you time and a half for the hours over 40.

It depends on your age and state.
If you're 18, it won't matter.
But good luck finding any job willing to pay you overtime, especially a fast food restaurant.
