No. It will not make a difference to the computer in your Jeep. It will make the necessary adjustments for your engine to run properly. Low octane fuels burn FASTER while High octane fuels burn SLOWER. I have an '02 Dodge Neon and I have run both grades of fuel, the only difference was 3 miles to the TANK. Remember, there are many factors to fuel economy, but the basics are,
1- tire inflation. Keep your tires to the proper pressure.
2- Air intake filter. Change it regularly.
3- Clean oil. Change that oil! Use synthetic oil, a bit more expensive but worth it.
4- Loose the weight. Get all of the junk out of your vehicle.
5- Keep you engine tuned.

What you said is true. Supreme or Super is a better quality gas, however is essentially the same thing as regular. Regular won't hurt a car as long as that car is rated for Unleaded Gas only, which your's is. Some high end cars say to only put in Supreme or Super gas, but that has to do with the gas mileage and gas quality (since high end cars don't get very good gas mileage).

Better gas mileage and quality, but higher price = supreme.
Perfectly fine gas and decent gas mileage but lower price= regular.

It depends on the engine. You can't really hurt it - but unless the engine needs higher octane, you are just wasting money.

If you find that it runs better, and gets better mileage - then more power to you. Most vehicles will tell you what kind of fuel to use somewhere near the filler cap.

I've known lots of people who wasted their money buying supreme thinking that it was going to make their car faster or something - they were just wasting money.

My '65 mustang needs higher octane gas, or it runs like crap - fortunately, rather than buying supreme, I just buy octane boost and add it to regular gas - you can do the same thing and it comes out much cheaper than buying supreme.

I would suggest that you put in the gas that the manufacturer recommends. If the owner's manual says to use 87 octane, then use it. Good luck
