Also, which ones don't leave a sticky or greasy residue on your hands?

I used to use Purell original formula and liked it because it was effective, soft on my hands (didn't dry it out, burn it, or leave a stinging sensation), and didn't leave ANY residue (not even the slightest bit) on my hands.

But now I can't use Purell anymore b/c I believe they changed the formula and now it dries out my skin, burns it, and make my skin sting for about 24 hours.

I have been using Purell everyday for about 5 years and now I can't use it anymore.

It's a complicated subject. Hand sanitizers are approved for health workers moving from patient to patient where the worker's hands have not been in direct contact with blood, body fluids or feces. In those situations, soap and water must be used.

Hand sanitizers do not remove food or dirt from hands as effectively as soap and water. They rely on the alcohol to kill the bacteria, whereas with hand washing, the anti-bacterial soap and water washes away most of the bacteria laden dirt or food, and kills many of those remaining.

But frequent hand washing leaves the skin red and dry, with open cracks in the winter, especially as we get older. Conversely, infectious disease consultants are less than enthusiastic about the use of creams and emollients, as the bacteria can reside in these. It's a real problem.

Wash your hands when you start work. Try a hand sanitizer that includes a moisturizer. Use a hand cream on lunch break and at night.

Tea Tree Oil

Use one drop straight from the bottle, massage it into your hands.
