I didn't want to be puffy at my wedding in 9 days, so I talked to my dr about the Spanx products, etc. to wear under my gown to "smooth" things out. I purchased my gown in Dec and I am now 13 weeks pg. He said that as long as it wasn't any tighter than control top pantyhose it was fine. It isn't any tighter than that at all, its actually more comfortable than those would be. I'm not really showing much yet, but it does smooth things out nicely.
I am only wearing it during the ceremony and for pictures at the beginning of the reception. I'll be changing out of my dress into a nice sun dress to eat and all that good stuff.
ETA: Do not wear anything with boning!! You cannot wear a corset while you are pregnant!!!!

RE:
Is wearing a body shaper (girdle) while pregnant bad?
I am barely showing. Really the baby has just pushed out some of my fat. But I need to know if wearing this shaper is bad. It just makes my stomach look smoother under clothes. Instead of flabby.

I plan on wearing a body shaper (spanx) at my wedding under my corset dress in 4 weeks. I will be 5 months pregnant then, and need to fit into my dress that was purchased long before I knew I was pregnant! I wouldn't recommend wearing it everyday though, you want to give the baby plenty of room to grow. Wearing it for one day or a special occasion won't hurt you, as long as you realize that if it feels uncomfortable or too tight to remove it.

While you are pregnant, you really can't be worried about your shape. It's going to change whether you like it or not. A body shaper is really not a good idea, because it's not only going to be uncomfortable...it may cut off some circulation, which is key. You need to have as much circulation as possible! What I suggest is trying to find cute, flattering motherhood clothes at Target, Old Navy, Walmart, or any other baby place that you have looked at. I know... you may be thinking that cute and flattering really can't be associated with motherhood clothes, but they do have many styles out there to try to make you as stylish and as comfortable as possible while pregnant. So...I would have to say oh well to the body shaper and worry about putting that on AFTER you deliver your baby. Your body is going to change whether you like it or not to accommodate the baby and its growth. Best of luck! p.s. I am 38 weeks along. Trust me...I know what you are going through.

Hi. No it probably does not. I assume you are talking about exercising by lifting weights. When you are training these might even restrict the flow of blood. It is very important that you use correct form when you are training because if you do not you might end up with an injury. Then on the other hand when doing heavy lifting wearing wraps around joints or a weightlifting belt is adviseable. Often there are some knowledgeable people that write articles on the internet. One person very knowledgeable is Dr Hatfield (dr. squat). He has a website where you might find plenty of useful information. Hope this helped.

I wouldn't wear anything that's tight around the belly while pregnant. You will become uncomfortable. This is a great time to grow out that belly and feel beautiful about it. You are creating life and there is nothing more special then that.

when i was in high school a girl wore one to prom b/c she didn't want people to know she was pregnant, but prom was only a few hours. I wouldn't recomend wearing one for a long time and i wouldn't recomend a really tight one, but then again i guess i wouldn't recomend it at all. i think you should wear looser shirts, like babydoll shirts instead then you cant really see you stomach shape, or something with patterns to reduce the appearance.

Do NOT wear this... although you may not be showing alot yet, the baby is growing each and every day and needs the room to grow. You dont need to worry about being "flabby" right now.
Congrulations on the pregnancy, but ditch the girdle!

Waist training corsets should have multiple layers of fabric to make them as strong as possible. Check the stitching, fabric and grommets to make sure your corset is of good quality and will last. Make sure that your corset is reasonably comfortable. While they usually take a bit of time to get used to, a corset shouldn't be particularly uncomfortable to wear unless you are lacing it very tightly.

That can't be good. Baby needs room to move around and also your organs are compressed as it is with baby. Forget wanting to look smoother, pregnancy is all about growing your belly! You can wear larger clothes which will make it less noticable.
