*water is better any day !!!!
Why add caffeine to the already added chemicals in the pills ??
Keep it less complicated, g/pa !!!!

The problem is how would the drink affect the chemicals in the pill. As a rule of thumb, use water. Any other drink would add active chemicals to the equation. I'm pretty sure that in most cases there's no problem at all. Medications that can be seriously affected by something have specific instructions.
It's not a big deal anyway, it's just a glass of water (maybe not even a whole glass).

It's always best to just take with water. Coffee is a diuretic and may make you dehydrated. As far as reacting with the pills-it's very unlikely and truly is not really important. It's okay to take it with your coffee if you normally drink a normal amount of fluids during the day anyway :-)

Water....depends on the ingredients in the pills the caffeine from the coffee may interact with the pills. You should always read the instructions first

Nurses always say water because the warmth of the coffee could melt the pills on the way down and they could get stuck.

I've been taking pills with coffee all my life...hasn't killed me yet!! And anyhow...the water where I live has so much chlorine in it, it would probably kill me before taking a pill with coffee would!!

I take water only because the doctors want me to drank more water. I really don't think you have to worry about most medicine except stomach drugs.

It is safer to take pills with a glass of water.
The caffine could react with the meds.

i take all my pills with coffee.. the only thing that i have heard not to take with pills is grapefruit juice..
