I love this band but the lead vocalist James Hetfield.... I really dont like him........ He kinda makes me afraid........ He seems to be too dangerous. Baring his teeths all the time and in hot anger........ Is he like dis alwayz???????? What do you all think????

Hell Yeah - he was scary in The Unforgiven 2 - he looked a bit psycho if I'm honest - but I think thats part of his image - he would be a bore if he didn't have that side to his character.

James has definately mellowed out these past few years. But focusing on the dad thing and sobering up would do that to you. You have to remember that Metallica is going on 25 years now. When they were first getting involved with the music scene it was all guitar thrash and the just the beginning of the punk scene. Who you are is all because of your influences. And everyone was angry in the early 80's....I mean the early 80's really sucked. There were lots of reasons to be pissed off.
I rather enjoy his anger, the music business is just too damn soft for me these days. I would love to see a new "Metallica" step up and make the music that ...And Justice For All left off with. The bigger the guitars, the better.

If he makes you afraid don't listen to them. There's a lot of anger in Metallica's music and almost all heavy metal music.

He seems like a nice guy to me. And the scary bada$$ makes for a good stage presence. Who could be afraid of a guy who takes his little girl to ballet lessons?

It is just for the show. heavy metal is supposed to be an aangry genre. if you notice his voice seems angry in many metallica songs

hah! you think he's scary now - you should have seen him back in the day - he was truly awesome - he has really calmed down in recent years, but still fantastic
