I have countless times bagged fish for shipping or for auction and had them in bags for well over 24 hours before the owner placed them in tanks. I have also many times purchased fish from other breeders either through the mail or at auctions and had fish to stay in bags for more than a day. 3 hours will be no problem at all as long as you protect the bag from getting too cool or too hot. Have a nice trip and don't worry about your new fish at all.

They will be fine as long as you move the bags every so often to bring the oxygen into the water.
I would not feed them because then they will produce waste if they do eat and chances are they won't because they are under stress so the food will just dirty the water making the fish stress even more. Stress coat isn't the best thing for your fish. My brother put stress coat in his tank all the time and his fish were always sick... come to find out it was the stress coat causing it. With a tiny lil bag like that you could over dose easily.
Just keep them somewhere that they won't get too hot or cold and they will be fine depending on the hardiness of the fish. If your water is in your tank and heated to the right temp but you don't have the decor done or filters on, etc... you can float the bags so that they adjust to the tank temp (which you should do with every fish you get anyway) until you are ready to put them in. Most Salt fish really need to be transfered quickly as they are far more delicate than a brackish fish - for the most part.
Good Luck, hope this helped!

I'm not sure about the exact time. I know bettas can live up to three hours in their bags because they breathe from the air surface, but I'm not sure whether the small amount of water in the bag would be enough for a fish that relied on oxygen within the water.

However, I do have a tip for transporting fish in bags: wrap the bottom of the bag with an opaque paper (all around the bottom all the way until the water surface; basically anywhere your fish can see). It will cut down on stress. Also avoid putting your bags of fish near AC vents or heaters while you're in the car. And, of course, try to make the journey as quick as possible.

Stresscoat and leave the bag open to get better air to the fish. keep the bag out of the sun. And if it's a fish that needs heat, 75-80F, don't use the air condition in the car too much. A little bag of water will cool off very fast in a cool car, and if it's a fish that's highly sensitive to temp change, you could end up with a big problem. Try leaving the air off. Hope this helps.

If you bag them properly, they will be OK for up to 4 hours. Bagging properly consists of 1/3 water and 2/3's air. The bags should be moved occasionally to make sure you are getting O2 transfer from the air in the bag to the water in the bag.

When I bag fish to go to a fish auction, I add a small tablet called a "Bag Buddy" that has a small amount of sedative that slows their respiration and a chemical that generates a small amount of O2. With one of these, my fish have been fine for up to 8 hours. I buy them from Jehmco online at $5 for 400 tablets. Your pet shop may have something similar.

They could survive in a plastic bag for 3 hours. At least from what I've experienced.
