His Numbers Suck Batting.190, 4 HR's,34 RBI's.The only thing he contributes is his 20 SB's.His career average has only been above .300, when he was with the Devil Rays last year. But we are paying him $8,250,000.And for what??

Ozgard, I'm definitely not saying he is not good in the field, because he is.He catches everything that is hit to him, and makes some awesome double plays. It's just a bit frustrating.I feel bad for the guy, I really do.I know he is trying as hard as he can.

Lugo is good at running and that is it. Unfortunately, that mean almost nothing in the AL. We should have kept Orlando Cabrera. He was very good in 04 and is still doing good. I think we should deal Lugo for Tejada, since the orioles would be liking any deal right now, and I am sure he wants out of the terrible orioles organization in his years leading up to retirement. I think he would be very succesful in Boston, especially with the green monster. Plus they need a SS that is already proven himself, lugo wasn't doing good when they got him, and Edgar was just a dumb move that didn't have to be made. IF they would have stayed with Cabrera, none of this would have happened. I think for this season at least. they should have used cora at SS, and have Pedroia also play there, as he played SS until spring training, and use the extra money to resign Loretta, he was a very good hitter.

A .190 hitter after 270+ at bats is unacceptable. No starter can go this far into the season hitting with such a low average. The one redeeming factor is that when he does get on, he steals bases such a high percentage of the time. Imagine he was actually batting .300 or even .250, he'd have a handful more SBs and that'd be highly valuable to the Sox. I think they're still holding onto the hope that he'll get there since he's never hit this low in his career. It was just 2 years ago that he hit well with Tampa Bay, and last year he hit poorly in LA. Time will tell who the real Lugo is but the Sox want to make sure they get their money's worth before giving up on him.

Well Little Miss he's a great glove and although his numbers really suck, he's not hurting them in the field. His batting will come around. Remember 2 years ago, Derek Jeter was hitting 190 for the first 2 months and then finish with a 295 batting avearge for the year. He'll come around, you'll see.

Lugo is beyond struggling. He can't even find the ball when he is batting. It's actually sad to watch him at bat. I get the same feeling like I used to when Bellhorn came up and thought to myself, here comes another strike out. Every now and then Bellhorn would hit a homer, which would soothe the pain of his at bats temporarily and of course his homers in the playoffs in 04, but Lugo is not even hitting singles. I hope the poster above is right. Give Cora the starts and hope it lights a spark under Lugo's butt to get it in gear, like Pedroia did earlier in the year. Honestly, in the last couple of years hearing all about how Theo wanted Lugo, I could never understand it. I was like, what do they see in this kid. I was hoping I was wrong, but man, he is hurting our lineup and killing potential rallies with his guaranteed outs.

He is hitting a buck ninety and the Red Sox have the best record in MLB, what a predicament to be in. They will hang in there with him because he gives them speed at the top of the line-up and he is a good defensive shortstop. It will just be an added plus when he starts hitting, which he will.

I feel really badly for him. Well, not that bad since he is making so much money but, he must be so frustrated. Thankfully, the rest of the team is picking up his slack..even JD Drew is coming around not to mention Coco. I think they will just keep moving him around and hope he snaps out of his funk. I too wish Orlando Cabrera still wore the Boston cap however, wishes don't usually come true..lol...

I have never gotten over trading Cabrera. I also don't know why we got rid of Alex Gonzalez (who is an excellent fielder). If we have to have a SS who can't hit well I would much prefer Gonzalez. Lugo absolutely has to go, although I do enjoy his base stealing.

Let Cora start a few games like they've kind of been doing. You know how they had Cora start when Pedroia was stuggling?
They'll do that and hopefully Lugo will pick it up.

I think that they are going to keep him and move him up and down in the line-up to get his confidence back. He provides something in that line-up that they don't have which is speed.
