my daughter has been 'teething' since 5 1/2 months. now she is 7 months and still no tooth has erupted. how long does it take until a tooth comes out? i know she is teething because at 5 1/2 months she was yanking at her ear, which i thought was an ear infection, but when i took her to her doctor, i was told she was teething.

actually she's been 'teething' since 3 months, but one of doctors in the pediatric group is conservative and doesnt believe in teething that early. she was drooling ALLOT and biting on everything, as well as irritable. at 5 1/2 she started to pull on her ears.

It can take months before that first tooth pop up. My daughter started the whole teething process at about 3 months, and 2 teeth came up at 7 months. My nephew has been teething for 4 months, and he's 9 months with no teeth.

My daughter never pulled her ear when she was teething. She got red cheeks, she was whingy, and she got a sore bottom. This happened about 4-6 weeks before teeth appeared, and it has happened with every tooth so far.

Wow! I thought I was going crazy! My 5 month old has been "teething" for 2 months now and everyone thinks I am making it up! She loves icy teethers, shrieks in pain and holds her gums and orajel helps soothe her! Not to mention the drool and chewing on everything we can get our paws on! Thanks for asking and answering a question I was going to ask!

it varies. My son who is 10 months has been teething since he was 5 months (he has 8 teeth already!) and they just keep popping thru :-/

Teething doesn't stop until the second set of teeth come in, which is the adult set. it's hell. Good luck!
