Hard to say. The bear has strength, but the lion has speed.
the bigger concern is that unless it is over territory or food, they will not engage each other in battle, preferring to walk away

First off: With a World Cup question you gave elsewhere today, you should change (edit) your answer to "England 1966." (I gave a knee-jerk thumbs down for the error. I'm sorry!! Sports questions/answers draw too many thumbs-down as it is.)
Now, lion or bear. The North American grizzly bears can weigh nearly 700 kilograms, whereas lions reach "only" about 250. The grizz, packing more wallop, would win the fight. (A brown bear can be similarly big. A black bear is closer in size to a lion, in which case the lion's swift punch might be decisive. But you're the fight manager....)

Mmm, that's tough but I think the lion would win. Although the bear is a lot bigger, the lion is a more ferocious and agile animal. The bear is too heavy to make quick decisive moves in the nick of time.
And another one bits the dust. The King of the Jungle rules!

A bear, he has weight, strength and mass on his side..
a bear would be able to pick the lion up and throw it across the forest, but then again if the lion got chance it could take the bear out if he got the chance to go for the bear neck.

The lion would win because he is lower to the ground. By the time the bear went down to attack, the lion would have already got a grip with his teeth.

full grown male lions are 9 feet long and weigh 350 TO 400 pounds, and vicious with long sharp teeth- they would dismantle a black bear easily.
A kodiak bear is 10 feet high , weighs FIFTEEN HUNDRED POUNDS OF SOLID MUSCLE, FOUR TIMES THE WEIGH OF A LARGE MALE LION, is ferocious and sharp teeth and claws.
I saw a Kodiak bear take out about 30 pounds of flesh with one swipe of its razor sharp claws at a zoo once, Kodiak bear is so much stronger than a lion, lions will even run when a tribesman with a spear approaches or when hyena's want their food. No wway could a spear or hyenas drive off a kodiak bear. Gun bullets cant seem to hurt it even.
think of it as the weight equivalent to one large pro football player s size (350 pounds) against FOUR large football players, no contest..............
tHE kODIAK BEAR WOULD BE THE KING OF THE BEASTS IN THIS MATCH UP

I would guess a bear - especially if it was a big bear. I doubt the lion would even take one on to be fair.... Do they even live in the same countries?
However, a pack of lions - lions definitely.

First what the hell kinda school do you go to
what kinda bear (that determines a lot)
are they in a neutral environment
all things considered if the bear is a adult grizzley, in a neutral environment he will maul the lion (but he will have claw marks and bites)
Also the site actually has a lion versus a bear IT IS NOT PRETTY (animal lovers be warned)

well, lions and bears both have different advantages
lions have claws and teeth
however some bears can b bigger than lions (polar bear, 4 ex. i think r bigger)
bears can also b more aggressive than lions
i dont think
either would win
they'd both end up killing each other
