they shouldn't put rock & pop together ..its 2 hole different worlds right?..it should be like ( rock & metal)...do you agree with me?

Yeah, I really agree. Rock is a differs a lot from Pop. They're two *different* concepts of music. Although, Rock and Metal do relate in a lot of ways. So it *should* be Rock & Metal, or just Rock and have Metal and Pop as two different sub-categories [for music].

Yes rock & pop should not be together. I also feel rock & metal should not be together. I would like to see areas for heavy metal, death metal, speed metal, grunge, punk, acid rock(don't even know of that's considered a genre anymore), classic rock, etc. They definatly need to expand into more genres with sub categories.

What about some of those Heavy Metal Hair bands from the 80's. they did some pop (soft rock ballads) also. But in most part, Pop is definatly should be seperated.

Yes deffo!! Rock and pop together make a whole diffrent genre. Rock and metal go together much better because there both of kinda the same genre. x

when people use rock/pop as a genre it means that it is a very popular rock song or band. yes i think both are different but if they had a genre rock/metal it would just combine rock and metal, not seperate popular rock songs.

I totally agree with you pop and rock are two VARY different types off music i think that yahoo answer should put pop by it's self and rock with hardcore and metal it just goes better I mean now people are getting pop and rock mixed up pop is kid like and rock is real and more meaningful
