Start>Right Click on My Computer>Poperties

It should state what version of windows your running there.

When vista was installed it should have ditected what kind of prossesor your computer was running at the time, and it would have defulted to that prossesor's bit rate. If your computer has a Pentium 4 or before or AMD (none 64) it should have defulted to 32, otherwise it would have tried to install at 64.

Easy go to the command prompt and type set - look for the processor type x86 is 32bit x64 is 64bit

If not, go to my computer->properties ->advanced->environment variables ->system variables->Processor_Architecture. (this is on windows xp and windows xp x64)
