People have different definitions of hazel.....I don't know why. Some say it's light golden brown, some say blue green. Actually it's eyes with a mix of different colors. Usually brown, green, and gold. But sometimes with blue mixed in too. And yes there are grey eyes. It's rare, but it absolutely does exist. I've only known about three people with it, and I currently work with a girl who has grey eyes. They are truly grey, not blue. And really pretty. Grey eyes are a variation of blue eyes. There are photos in Wikipedia you can look at, in the eye color article.

I have blue eyes, my husband has brown, and my dad has grey eyes. Hazel is not the blue / grey, but actually where it's brown, blue, and/or green. My daughter's eyes have some blue, some brown, and some golden colors in her eyes, and a small hint of green. Depending on the lighting condition, her eyes may look more brown or more blue.

I have hazel eyes and they are greenish-brown. Depending on what I am wearing, they can look more brown or more green. It's kinda cool.

As for grey eyes, I think that's only in romance novels! :-) I've never met anyone with grey eyes although I have known people with blueish-grey eyes.

I think hazel is either a light shade of brown, or it is also a type of eyes that change color by what your wearing. I don't think eye color can be grey, but that would be really cool!
