It's a 98 EX model. And I think one of the connecting pipes might be rusted and may need replacing as well. I've seen advertised prices for mufflers, but it does not include labor, of course, and I don't know how much additional that would be.

Where do you auto repair experts recommend getting the repair done? Midas, Car-x, the dealership, etc???

do not go to the dealership. Take the car to a local business.

There usually is a small business that specializes in brakes and mufflers in every town.

Mufflers in general are not expensive. I once paid $40.00 to replace one--including the exhaust pipes to and from the muffler. The whole process, from getting my car onto trhe lift to paying out and driving away, took less than 30 minutes.

Talk to a "local" muffler shop instead of going to Meineke or someother national chain. You'll probably see a better price.

Go to the local dealer. It should be around a thousand $ at most.
