Do you know who you is?

What does it mean when someone says "Who are you?" While many of us would respond by saying whatever job we do is who we are (or at least part of it), what is a proper response to the question?

I would not get too metaphysical if you don't want to turn people off.
Most people just want to hear some small talk, and would be totally baffled by existential angst.
Just say something about your occupation, and save the deep thoughts for your soul mate.

Well sure, I know who I am. I'm alot of things. *How does that go, I contain multitudes????* I never answer that question by telling someone what my job is. That's just something I do so that I can have a life. If the person doesn't look like they're in the mood for a philosophical discussion, it's best just to tell them your name. I know alot of people tell you who they are in relation to someone else, ie: Jane's Husband, Joe's Mom. That works for me sometimes. It's really kind of hard to describe yourself and get everything, isn't it?

I am consciously aware of Who I am, and who I desire to be, which is "The Greatest Version of the Grandest Vision I ever had about My Self." And I try to BE that daily. I am afterall...a Human BEING. Made in the likeness and the image of God. So, my answer in one word would be. LOVE. I am LOVE.

I think a person's response sums up how they feel about themselves. When people ask me that question, I say that I am a person with feelings and integrity and I can be identified by my given name.

I let them guess who I am! It's more mystery for them and more fun for me!

Win-win, WHO could ask for more?
