I've heard people say and have read, that you should defragment your PC, once a week and I don't know if I should, if it says it's not needed. Any advice is appreciated! Thanks!

It doesn't hurt. All you are doing is putting pieces of files in order so the computer runs smoother.

If you defrag once a week or once a month, it's no real difference.

Frag away!!

Well I am going to assume you meant DefRag and not DeFag....Defragging is not necessary once a week. Once a month is more than enough. But it will not hurt your PC to do it.

It never hurts; if it is not needed, there will be no noted change in performance. If you do it overnight it won't inconvenience you and it will not hurt.

If you do this periodically, you will never have a major defrag related performance problem. It is like most routine maintenance - if done on a prudent schedule problems are fewer.

You can if you like. It won't do any harm. But if XP says it doesn't need to be defragged, then your kinda just wasting time.
