Can you tell if you are dialated by sex? My husband and I never have sex anymore. (i mean like only 1-2 times a month) and last night we had sex. Usually he says I feel really tight, but last night he said I felt loose. I am 34 weeks. I know you can dialiate weeks before you actually go into labor, but I am just curious.

Yes, you can..not really dilatation but cervical changes, the closer you get to labor the softer your cervix will feel..enjoy that sex while you can..soon you will have a baby that will interrupt!

Yes, some women start to dilate a month or two before they actually go into labor, so it's quite possible that at 34 weeks you are already dilating and effacing somewhat. It will probably happen gradually for you in the weeks leading up to labor.

Depending on his size and length, your husband may or may not be able to feel the difference. If he is comparing it to what he felt before, than he might really be on to something. Your cervix should feel softer, too, as labor approaches.

Remember, a doctor feels your cervix with his fingers and they are not that long so it's possible for a man to feel the changes in the cervix during intercourse.

All the best to you and baby!

no not really. The onyl way to know if you are dialating is from labor and the odc checking you. Do'nt have your husband do it. He probably said that because everythign inside of you is streching, preparign your body for it all to happen. Your body stretches more than you think when your pregnant. Good Luck, and congrats on your soon to be a mommy in a couple of months.

Navy is right. You can't tell by sex but if its ok with your doc or midwife then I would say the more sex the better. Semen has prostagladins which is great for softening and ripening the cervix and helping things out down there

No you can't feel if your dilated w/ sex because it is your cervix and if he was hitting your cervix it would be painful (and not probable). Your husband needs to be nice to you--that's every pregnant girl's dream to have someone tell her she feels "loose". it's probably just the pregnancy hormones getting everything ready for birth. Good luck and remember boys are just stupid.

No you can't tell if your dialated by how it feels when you have sex.
Your cervix is so high up he wont be able to reach it with his penis at all.
