Fat 32 Is A File System That Uses The Space On Your Drive More Efficiently. It Has Nothing To Do With The Size Of Your Hard Drive. It Sounds Like Your Hard Drive Is 80Gigabytes Now And That Is Four Times More Space Than A 20Gb. If You Want Your Computer To Be Faster, Buy More Memory (RAM) Remove/Clean-Up Unwanted Or Out-Dated Files Or Programs You Don't Use (Make CD Or DVD Back-Ups If You Don't Have Them On Disc Already) Defragment Your Drive. Update Your Disc Drivers. If You Can, Get Your Processor Upgraded.

Fat 32 is just a filing system. I believe that anything really uses fat 32. You shouldn't even know the difference whether you using that - or using NTFS..... NTFS is more sophisticated but has nothing to do with the hard drive size. If you're using 98, you don't even have that option. 20 gigs is 20gigs and nothing will make it bigger. Any OS under 2000 will not use it anyway.

FAT 32 is a file allocation system.

20 gigs is a description of size or amount.

So, I don't quite understand your question. If you want to find out the size of the hard drive that is installed in your machine, click "My Computer" and then right click the "C" drive and choose "Properties".

the speed doesnt depend on the size of the hard drive so much but if the hard drive is half full the computer will run slower if you have xp that alone is allready taking up 5 gigs of space the cpu and the ram will also be a factor of computer speed

In addition to the above, a 20GB hard drive is small by today's standards, especially if you save a lot of stuff or have large programs. Some games take up to 10GB alone.

FAT32 is the file system, not the amount of space on the drive. You can format the new drive in FAT32 if you want, but I suggest using NTFS (if your Windows supports it).

adding the drive will not make anything faster if you only have 256mb memory i suggested getting more memory as well as making your hardrive a ntfs hardrive its better security,
