I would have to go with #1. The way I see it..... I guess from my view..... is that if I were to love someone madly, there's no way that would have happened unless something had grown out of an amazing friendship where I got to experience so much with him to the point where I started appreciating him in a way that went beyond friendship.

Ok ..... so he doesn't love me as I love him. I could so face that. It doesn't mean my feelings for him would change. But what I know is that no matter what, I have this amazing friend that I adore and admire and just LOVE being around. How could that not make me happy?? How could I not still be content?

If it were the other way around and he loved me but I didn't love him. I would feel so quilty. I know I would keep pushing him away as if to show him all of the other possibilities out there in life ..... and I know that in doing so it would only push him further away from our friendship. **shudders** I would hate that. Friends mean so much to me. Sooooo much more than having that love of your life. I would never ever want to be the cause of someone's pain. I wanna make them happy.....

So I would have to say that definitely for me.... it would be better to love someone.... even if that love could not be returned.
