Sixteen! I would never give one of own kids a car at that age. I was not ready for a car with a 351 Cleveland!

17, bought a Mercury Grand Marquis station wagon from my neighbor for $75...this thing was huge, had no muffler and only got 4 miles to the gallon, after I replaced the muffler it got 8...drove it for about a year and then junked it for $50.

I was 17 and it lasted 4 days. Just long enough to get a ticket. It was a total piece of crap.
