you can only get pregnant if you have sex for the few days before & of ovulation, which is usually less than one week each CYCLE.... BUT that time frame COULD be at any time. (some women have ovulated during there period & gotten prego, for example!).

so, yes, it's basically true.
*you can't get pregnant unless there's sperm available when the egg is released. *

sperm can live up to a max of 5 days, the egg will pass through within 24 hrs (unless fertilized!).

There is a chance that you can get pregnant at any time of the month, but there are days that are much better than others. The optimal time to get pregnant is from a day or two before you ovulate to a day or two after. So, it would be better to say that there is one week out of every month when it is the optimal time to get pregnant.

technically only about 24 hrs as the egg does not survive long. This is why it can take a normal, healthy fertile couple approx. a yr to get pregnant.

In a theoretical, general manner of speaking, yes. But there are more exceptions than wags of a dog's tail so I wouldn't rely on it in general practice.

Yes! Unless you are one of the luck ones, very rare, that ovulates twice a month!!!

It is true that you are more likely to conceive during the time you ovulate BUT you can get pregnant ANYTIME. Trust me, DH and I are expecting baby #4 late this summer!

No, you can get pregnant at any time. They say there is less of a risk if you do it during the time of your period although once again you can get pregnant at any time.
