If I pay more Federal taxes, shouldn't I get ADDED benefits and services from them?

Shouldn't I GET MORE instead of LESS from a Government I pay higher taxes to?

How come I pay 100% for illegals and lazy people's children to go to college, and THEN, I pay 100% for my own kids? Shouldn't I get a volume discount on mine?

What ever happened to "YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR"?

We also pay high WI taxes and property taxes. Our school district does NOT get the money back from WI that we PAY for education so our property taxes are higher. I live in a more affluent community and MY money is thrown down that hell hole school system in Milwaukee where more kids drop out than graduate.

I never looked at it that way before. I think you have a good point. If you pay more in taxes, you should get more from the government than someone who pays very little in taxes.

Unless of course, you support the redistribution of wealth.

Now that is real thinking! You're right, laws continue to bind the law abiders, and the lawless don't care. I heard the illegals were to get tax credits in the proposed bill, and free ride scholarships--now that is just ridiculous. Where are the incentives for kids to stay in school and work hard when they can get knocked up, welfare, grants, special programs to send them to school? Or just come over here illegally and demand rights. Oh yeah, and before I forget, they have an advantage because they already speak Spanish which is a must for some US jobs now.

I have no problem with everyone paying a flat tax - the same percentage of their income.

But the same people who scream "don't legislate morality" concerning abortion and same-sex marriage have no problem saying that some people make "too much money" and the government should take it.

Anyhow, the fact that you have children makes you a user of MORE resources than those of us who don't...and those of you who are married get benefits that those of us who are single do not. My property taxes go to pay for YOUR children to go to school...does that seem fair? When I asked these questions, I was told that a healthy and educated society benefits EVERYONE, and society affects us all. If you want a safe neighborhood, you pay more for police officer. etc...

I think if anyone has a right to complain about taxes it is those of us who actually work and get taxed.

This is why it should become obvious that even if you believe in equality of situation, government is not the vehicle through which it can be accomplished. Government is what needs to be squeezed rather than the middle class.

You do have added benefits.

You have the right to go to the County Hospital and you have the right to go wherever your HMO tells you to go.

You have the right to pay your rent and also put groceries on your table.

You also have the right to pitch and moan about everything, like all republicans do.
