A great work of fiction--very interesting. I think that Brown is a good author, and extremely creative.

I figured that it was a pure fiction and the controversy can be avoided by thinking that.
I really like the style and the mood through the book, however, I won’t say this is the best or one of the best books ever. Because, this book does not make you think yourself, it gives you all the information and there is not enough creativity as a reader to apply. I like the book better if there are more thinking involved. But again, not a bad book at all.
Try reading Angels and Demons by Dan Brown. I think that is wayyy better than Da Vinci Code.

I really liked it! I thought the storyline was interesting, the characters interesting as well (they could have been a bit more developed perhaps), and it was a fun and fast read.
I understand how it could be considered controversial, however it is a work of fiction and many fictional stories could be seen as controversial if they were taken out of context. Was Jurassic Park any less controversial? It could have made a similar "stink" if the paleontological society had gotten up in arms about the book trying to put dinosaurs in a bad light...that may sound silly - because I think it is silly. Just as silly as I found the "controversy" surrounding Brown's book to be.
Personally, I was raised Catholic and this book has no bearing whatsoever on my religious beliefs, because I have a mind of my own and a fictional story isn't going to change how I think.

Dan Brown tried to murder history with this book. I am told that the art history in it is good, but everything else makes me cry, as a historian. The Cat in the Hat has more historical accuracy than this book.
It was controversial because Brown presented his rubbish as fact (just because it is fiction doesn't mean everything in it is false; most readers assume that certain parts of a fictional story do relate to the real world). You can save your time and find a better reading experience with almost any other book.

I thought the book was alright but not as great as everyone else seems to think. The Controversy is baseless as this is a book of FICTION..duh.
I liked Angels and Demons more than Davinci Code.

I liked it. I liked it for the informational tidbits about symbolism more than I liked the story. Want to know what I liked even MORE? Angels and Demons by Dan Brown. BETTER than the Da Vinci Code. DEFINITELY. :D Read it, enjoy.

Convoluted theories and misinformation interjected with ridiculous ideas. I've studied the real Leonardo Da Vinci in depth and find the entire book absurd. Brown was out to make money. Period.

I read "The DaVinci Code" a while ago and really enjoyed it. I think I read "Digital Fortress," which is also by Dan Brown, first and I liked that one too. "The DaVinci Code" was controversial, as it questioned the church. It was a good mystery that kept you reading to the laslt page. I think that Dan Brown is a good mystery writer.

i thought it was terrible! i could barely finish it, but i forced myself to because i have a personal rule: always finish reading a book if you start!
it wasn't controversial (well it tried to be, to provoke a reaction) i thought it was very trite, the characters were underdeveloped. Brown put too much into the storyline to make it seem epic and amazing, and he seemed to forget that the characters in his book are real people with thoughts and feelings.
i don't mind that the book is historically inaccurate- that doesn't bother me at all!- i just hate the book for what it is. that's all.

yes I read the book and found it very entertaining, but not factual it was written as a work of fiction and all the hype about it was very good for the author because it drove up sales. I also watched and enjoyed the movie very much. It was a mythological style book based on an old myth not of Christ but of his wife. while his divinity is real. thay he had a wife is myth
