Homer Simpson. Even though Peter Griffin is funny, he sometimes goes over it and I know Homer almost never goes too crazy. I never watched American Dad so I don't know who Stan Smith.

Currently I would have to say Homer because as bad as he can be when the chips are down it is clear that he loves "Bart, Lisa and the other one..." and would do anything for them.
