Seeing how most of them vote against their interests by voting republican, which in tern tilts the USSC farther and farther to the right, I would have to say so. Americans clearly dont care about their own rights

It seems the republicans that are answering here have a problem with freedom. The news media is not left leaning. After the elections in '06 it became clear that they now had protection and a right to once again start telling the truth without the fear of repercussions by the republican controlled government. If you have not noticed the change then you have not been paying attention. As for the Right, they have FOX, RUSH, HANDJOB and many others. The ratio of conservative to liberal talk in this country is 2500+ hours a week compared to under 300 for the good guys. Check the link.
As for living under a dictatorship... ("This job would a lot easier if it were a dictatorship. As long as I was the dictator"). Remember that quote? He has been trying his best by going around the FISA court. And a fair and speedy trial is no longer a right when you can be held indefinitely without charges. Ignoring laws that he has sworn to uphold and protect when he came to power (like any good DICTATOR, not legally), writing at the bottom of bills that he may at his discretion not obey.
So, tell me, how would you feel if all of a sudden you were not able to criticize your government and have an outlet to voice your opinion. Is it so hard for some of you to think for yourselves? Do you really believe what is coming out of Bush's mouth and those of his cronies? If so, then, as I feared, the dumbing down of america has happened. To think is to be Progressive.
