In some ways it would. Midget wrestling sounds kinda fun though :)

I have a few people blocked and they're known stalkers. Since blocking them, my number of violations have all but disappeared. The others that I've blocked are those who blocked me first, because of opposing view points and wanting nothing more than pats on the back from like-minded people. Also, game pointing is involved, betcha! But darned if I'll be blocked and in return allow them to get into my questions and answers.
Yes, a lot of childishness is involved here... :) I say ignore it and move on.

Debate, means that you are contributing your opinion to the question. I am not sure what blocking a user curtails, if the answer is not a contribution and is just a sarcastic come back you can vote it down ( non-contributable) of course that is an opinion isn't it.

i agree. i like to hear different opinions, i listen to see if there's anything to them. no-one is ever going to have the exact same views as someone else, and that is just the world. so why block someone like that? ive never blocked anyone, i have reported a couple people for using the N word and that's all that really offends me. we have thumbs up and down, good enough.

I have found that mainly immature people do that. And yeah it annoys the hell out me. I enjoy being able to block certain trolls froms answering my questions but why ask questions if you can control what answers you get. Its silly. This feature might ruin Yahoo Answers.

I respect other peoples points of view even if I don't agree. I only block offensive people...Like people who hate others because of race, religion, sexual preference etc. I want nothing to do with those types of people.

I have a feeling the biggest abuser of the block feature (who will remain nameless, but we all know who it is), is tired of getting his account suspended. The problem is, that he does not know how to remain civil when debating with those of opposing viewpoints and then gets suspended.

I block those who block me, who cares anyway. It means I got to them, so while they are sitting there holding a grudge getting angry...Jahpson is typing away.

if it is just a disagreement, I can handle that... But when someone is just rude for no reason... heck yes, I will block. But I am far from a coward... I'd just rather not deal with rude ppl....
