Generally speaking anything that goes next to the body - especially near sweat glands - needs to be washed after one wear, but outer clothes can be worn for several days before they need washing. The weather and your level of activity also make a difference.
So, socks and underwear - fresh everyday;
T-shirts - I might put it aside to wear again if it's been a cool day and/or I haven't been particularly active;
Blouses - fresh for each wear or they look draggled;
Jeans - I'll wear for several days before washing;
Work trousers - wear 2 or 3 times before washing;
Sweatshirts - mostly wash occasionally;
Woolens - I hate handwashing them, so as rarely as I can get away with...
And there's always the 'sniff test' - if you take it off and you can smell it, then it needs washing. Wish I could get my step-son to understand that one ;o)

Usually I wear clean clothes everyday. But sometimes a t shirt, dress etc is still clean and fresh and I will wear indoors. If I was going out somewhere then it would definately be clean. Jeans normally go a few wears. I shower in the morning and bath at night so things tend to stay fresh.

The clothes that I wear out in public , I usually wash after 1 wear.....but the clothes I wear when I am at home being a bum, usually after a couple wears because since I wear those clothes at home I don't have to worry about people smelling me....

I dont wash my jacket all the time but that is a jacket... If you are wearing a spaggetti strap or something that does not graze your armpits I give it a 2 day.. Jeans are 2 or 3 depending how and where you were them.. skirts the same... But again I hate rewearing shirts unless they are spaggetti strap or I have an undershirt on. I don't wear new clothes everyday but I have a selection I pick amongst. If it smells just use the gel!! :) hehe

Tread a little more lightly! How much water and carbon-heavy energy gets used washing things that don't need it. Ok, you don't want to smell, but half the things that get washed are pretty clean. Time and place for brand new and bright white, but washing jeans daily? Do you do particularly dirty work? Do yo really HAVE to be immaculate?
Oh, and don't use tons of soap - you don't need to SEE bubbles to clean, and don't wash too hot.
Finally, ever tried doing a wash without soap on 30C? You'd be surprised how well it works for a lot os stuff.

I wear the same jeans a few times and wear jackets quite a bit before washing them. But everything else I just wear once before washing them.

i only wear new clothes everyday if I'm working outside the house. i will wear a pair of jeans 3 or 4 times and a tshirt maybe twice. i tend to change tops more often than trousers, i might wear work trousers two days in a row. any kind of underwear gets changed every day.

if i can get away with 2 day wear i will on clothes not underwear but usually only 1 day because the kids seem to get them more dirty in summer due to being in the garden most of the time.

Well some ppl actually with jeans or pants two times but I think that everything should go through once. So in that case you should definitely go to the washer machine or what ever every week or every other week depending on how much you need to wash.

i wash almost everything after one wear. socks, underwear, tops.. but jeans or skirts i usually wear more than one time. but that also depends on what kind of clothing it is, i mean for example my "nice dresses" i wash instantly after use, but not my "everyday-skirts"..haha, now does that make any sence at all?
