If you were overweight to begin with (I don't know your height) then they only recommend you gain 15-25 pounds during your entire pregnancy. As long as you are eating and drinking, and your baby is still moving, there is probably no cause for concern. A co-worker of mine barely gained 15 pounds by the time she gave birth because she had morning sickness the whole nine months, and her baby was completely healthy and normal. It really goes on a case by case basis.
I only gained 19 pounds during my pregnancy (I was full term, only went 2 days before due date). So really, it isn't too much to worry about! You have another 8 weeks to gain weight!

Don't worry. Actually if you were a little overweight (I'm not saying you were because I don't know your height or body structure.), it's better to gain about 15-25 lbs., rather than the 25-35 lbs. If your weight was a concern, your doctor would inform you. As long as you are eating healthy and taking in the recommended calories, don't worry about how much weight you gain. Also, the fact that your measurements are correct is a good sign that everything is okay. You might be losing weight in other areas. I had lost weight in my legs with my first pregnancy. I'm hoping for the same with this one. Best wishes.

It's different for every person. My last pregnancy they had me scared because for the first 1/2 I didn't gain anything. Then I gained enough toward the end. It really depends. Average gain for an average person is 15-25 lbs I think. Or that's what they want the average person to gain. Also, if you started eating healthier once you became pregnant then you could technically have lost your own weight while the baby and fluids and stuff added weight. So you losing and it gaining evened out. Have you recently had an ultrasound or heard babies heartbeat, felt it move? If so, it's probably fine and if your doctor was worried he would most likely tell you so. Don't worry, enjoy your last month, all those baby kicks, and imagine it's beautiful face, holding it for the first time. Relax!!!!!

You're fine, you'll probably put on another 5 to 10 pounds before it's over and then you'll be right where you're supposed to. The average norm for weight gain during pregnancy (well it depends on you height and weight to begin with also) but is somewhere between 20 and 25 pounds, so i think you'll be just fine.
You're lucky, with my son i was 100 pounds getting pregnant, and 162 by the time it was over and he was only a 5lb baby!!! With this one i was 135 to start and already 172 and i'm 33 weeks!!!! I'm only supposed to gain no more than 23 pounds....so consider yourself lucky. Just be sure you're eating good and staying as active as you can and getting as much rest and sleep as you can and you and baby will be just fine.

It's fine. I'm 24 weeks and barely gained 8 LBS. The DR said it's ok as long as I was eating right and the baby is growing the way its supposed to then there is nothing to worry about. It's all just BABY WEIGHT Thats why. Be happy about that because it'll be much easier to lose the weight after pregnancy

I gained a total of 17 with my first, 22 with my second and now I'm 31 weeks preg with twins and I've only gained 7! As long as the baby is growing, you are fine. If you start off a little overweight, you are supposed to gain less. Same goes if you start off underweight, you are supposed to gain more. I was worried at first with the twins because I keep losing the weight I gain, but my doctor says it's fine. As long as the baby (or babies, in my case) are growing, that's all we need to worry about.

This is fine, your doctor should at least tell you that. When u went in for your first appt, he should have told you your target weight gain, for your height and weight. 14lbs is fine. I only gained like 5 lbs, but i had gestational diabetes so i had to watch what i ate. Go to babycenter.com that website is full of great advise and has a community where u can chat with other mothers to be that are due the same month as u and they are big help too! Hope this helps, Tina Congrats on baby!

Every body and every pregnancy is different. Because you were heavy to begin with, it should be ok for you to gain less than expected. You are "ideally" supposed to gain 20 lbs, I weighed 112 and at last measure at 35 weeks I weighed 162. I felt that is what my body needed and had a healthy baby and went back to my original size. Enjoy your pregnancy!

It all depends on your height/weight ratio when you started. How tall are you? If you are on the shorter side, and 162 was overweight for you, then you could be perfectly normal. I am 5'8" and about 40 pounds overweight. Everything I've read about weight gain says I should only gain about 13 pounds total - just whats needed for the baby and necessities (placenta, amniotic fluid, etc) My doctor says this is a good weight gain also. They used to say one weight gain range for everyone, now they have ideals for severely underweight, underweight, normal weight, overweight and obese.

I gained about 45 pounds. And the doctor told me it was all baby. I looked at her like she was crazy did not understand what she meant by that because don't no baby weigh 45 pounds. She was basically saying the fat and weight gain is helping the baby grow and be healthy. And she said I would loose it after I gave birth if I exercise and ate right. 14 pounds is probably all you needed to keep your baby healthy. I was thin and weighed nothing really before I had the baby.
