This is kind of elaborate but it works, trust me......
You have to find a monkey, llama, and a shaman. The real shaman is the key, so don't cheat yourself by getting the first shaman you see down at the deli, make sure you see his credentials. Take the monkey, put it ontop of the llama, paint a pirate mustache on the llama using your toes. That is not it. The shaman priest needs to be sitting on your bean bag eating a bag of frito lay chips, the variety does not matter. Now while you paint the llama with your feet, and the shaman watches, the monkey needs to be clapping his hands hysterically while at the same time computing complex calcus problems in its head. Then you need to sing Bohemian Rhapsody backwards three times, and Voila, no more hiccups...
Works everytime.....

- Repeated swallowing works for mild cases.
- If someone notices that you have hiccups tell them. They might try to scare them out of you.
- Relax, sit still and breathe in deep, slow, rhythmic breaths expanding and contracting your lungs completely.
- Distract yourself. Sing a song, go over your 7 times tables (7 x 1 = 7, 7 x 2 = 14, etc) until the hiccups are gone,
- Exhale completely and hold your breath for as long as possible.
- Eat a tablespoon of peanut butter.
- Stand on your head and drink small gulps of water from a sports bottle.
- Take a shot of lemon juice.
- Let a teaspoon of sugar dissolve under your tongue.
- Eat some pickles.
I've tried them all. They all don't work for all types so try them all before you give up.

Take a deep breath and hold it. Then repeat this again if it still isn't working. Do this a few times and it should work. Hiccups are probably a sign that the rhythm for breathing needs an adjustment, or that the body is trying to gulp a little more oxygen. I hope this works for you - it works for me.

Anyone can mentally think away their hiccups.
Really. It works, perfectly. You may not believe it till you try it.
As long as I can really concentrate on waiting for my next hiccup, without distractions, it works every time. It only ever fails when I'm distracted, and then I just try again with success. I never ever hiccup more than 2 or 3 times. EVER.

Well, there are a lot of "cures" for hiccups...I've heard of drinking out of the wrong side of the glass (what the heck does that mean, anyway???), holding your breath...
BOO!
But that usually works for my daughter.

Big deep breath. Try and hold it for 1 hour. No, better make that 1 minute.
Or - drinking a pint of water very fast - ideally upside down (but that gets messy).
Or..... no that's it.
