The name of the song is "Annie's Song".
Its on several of his albums. Check out his "Greatest Hits" albums, he has two, for all of his good ones. Annie's Song is on the 2nd one.

Annie's Song is the title of the song, written for his then wife. It's on the album Back Home Again and I think on one of his greatest hits album - not the first one though. Don't tell anyone I told you, I'm a closet John Denver fan, It always reminds me of being a kid. Peace.

It's been on a lot of his compilation albums but I think the first studio album it appeared on was 1974's Back Home Again.
